Leopard + Plum

A few of the colors that I'm most excited to wear this fall are plum and burgundy. They are such rich and beautiful shades. Not only are these colors fun to wear in items of clothing and accessories but also in makeup. I bought a plum colored lipstick and I'm in love with it. Fall is the perfect time to experiment with darker lipstick shades.

Also, the last picture of Eve in this post absolutely kills me. She is such a sweet little girl. How did I get so lucky?

Hello, Fall!

Fall officially begins in a couple of days and I'm pretty happy about this cooler weather. I've already pulled out all of my sweaters, scarves, and boots. I'm excited to finally be able to start layering again! Layering can often be the key to a really cute outfit! While I'm excited about fall fashion, I have to say that I was missing the warmth on my run this morning. I had to cut it a little short because poor little Eve's hands were freezing! It's time to break out her mittens and beanies!

Peplum + Mint

I just can't get enough of peplum so it comes at no surprise that I fell in love with this mint, faux leather peplum jacket as soon as I saw it. It seemed like a fun way to transition peplum into fall. This has been sitting in my closet for weeks, just waiting for the weather to cool down enough.

Sorry for the lack of posts over the past couple of weeks. I was wrestling with the decision of whether or not to take a modelling job. It seemed like it would have been so fun but I wasn't excited about leaving my little girl. In the end I decided that spending time with Eve was more important. Even though I knew I was making the right decision, I still felt pretty bummed about it. I'm feeling better about it now and I'm ready to embrace my old routine again, blogging included.

Polka Dots

When I was browsing through Forever 21's site on Labor Day, I came across this polka dot skirt and knew that I couldn't pass it up. I loved the larger size of the dots and the midi length. I also knew that it would be perfect for pattern mixing because it was a nice, basic pattern. Best of all, it was under $10.

Mint + Chevron

A basic v-neck tee and a maxi skirt make for a comfy combination. A fun patterned skirt helps make this look a little more interesting, too. This is one of my favorite outfits. It's cute and perfect for a night out or a day of errands.

On an interesting side note, a couple of apartments in our apartment complex were destroyed by a fire this morning. We woke up at 6:30 to our baby monitor beeping because we had no power. When John and I went for our morning run we could see the damage and saw that lots of people had been evacuated from their apartments. Luckily no one was hurt. It was definitely a memorable morning!
