Denim on Denim

One look that I love is denim on denim. Technically my pants aren't denim because they're jeggings and my shirt is chambray, not denim. They still produce the denim on denim look though so that's good enough for me.
I've had the necklace I'm wearing here for a while but this is the first time I've ever worn it. My little two and three year old nephews loved it. The two year old pointed to it and said "that's pretty." I guess I'll have to wear this necklace more often!

Blazer + Graphic Tee

Blazers are the best. They are so versatile and can really make an outfit. I put on this cute peacock graphic tee with jeans but felt that the outfit was a little boring and a little too similar to what I've been wearing almost every day lately. I put on the blazer and my problems were solved. My husband kept telling me all day that he really liked my outfit so I know that this one was a winner.

It's likely that I'm going to be posting a little less frequently this week than I usually do. John's family is visiting and we're trying to fit in as much time with them as we can.

Sorry once again for not including Eve in these pictures! She was inside getting lots of attention from her aunts, uncles, and cousins and I didn't want to pull her away from that!

Pop of Blue

This is going to be a fairly short post because we're off to spend time with family again today. I wore this outfit to a wedding reception the other day. I had ordered this skirt from SexyModest Boutique and it arrived the day of the reception. I was so excited to get it that I had to wear it that night. I love how unique this pencil skirt is. It's super stretchy and has such a fun texture.
Sorry for the lack of Eve in these pictures! She fell asleep in the car on the way back from the reception!

Girlifying

I've had these pants for a few years now but rarely wear them. I decided that it was about time to give them another chance. Lately I've been seeing people combining camo pants with girly tops or accessories. Although these pants aren't camo, they are similar because they aren't very feminine. I paired them with a cute shirt, a pretty necklace, and my favorite heels. I was pretty happy with the result!

On a side note, sorry for not posting a Wellness Wednesday post this week! Some of John's family is visiting this week so there's not a lot of time for blogging. I might try to write a fitness post for Saturday but we'll see how that goes!

Floral Lace

This top combines two of my favorite things- floral prints and lace. It's pretty, light, and perfect for spring. I think this top paired with white pants creates such a fun, fresh look. I dressed Eve in a cute little floral outfit as well. Is it weird that I coordinate outfits with my baby? Even if it is, I'm probably still going to do it!

Letters to Eve: 6 Months

 Dear Eve,

You're a couple of weeks past six months now. How has my little tiny baby become so old? It's amazing how quickly you grow and change. Just a few months ago you were a tiny newborn and all you could do was lay there and stare up at us, occasionally moving your arms and legs around with almost no control. That's definitely not what you're like now!

Red + Black

Yep, I need a tan. I'm pretty sure that I could pass for a vampire. In fact, if there was a paleness competition I would probably win.
Anyway, let's move on to these shorts. They are... the bee's knees. The length is perfect, they have just the right amount of stretch, and they come in such fun colors! They're on sale right now for $28.99 with free shipping from SexyModest Boutique (see here and look in the sale section for Bermuda shorts)
That's about all I have to say! Try not to blind yourself while looking at my skin in these pictures.
Have a great weekend!

10 Minute Workout: Abs

I'm getting this post done with about 15 minutes left on Wednesday. It's still a Wellness Wednesday post even if no one sees it until Thursday!

My abs are something that I tend to neglect during my workouts. They're definitely a part of my body that need strengthening after having a baby. They got very little use during those long nine months so they are pretty weak.

This workout is quick and targets all of your abs! It's not a bad idea to use this workout on the same day that you do a strength workout for another area of your body. Make sure not to do this workout every day, though. Your abs need time to recover!

Neon

Neon is one of my favorite trends. There's just something about wearing neon. I think it makes you feel a little cheerier. Plus you're almost guaranteed to get comments on your outfit. You're likely to get a least one "Ow, my eyes" or something to that effect.
I happened to find a neon top for Eve the other day. It's an 18 month size top but I thought I'd dress her in it anyway so that she could join in on the neon fun!

Baseball Tee

It's looking like this is going to be a summer of skirts for me. Especially maxi skirts. I know I've said they're comfortable before but I'm going to say it again. Maxi skirts are soooo comfy. Especially this one. It's so soft and stretchy. Love it. I paired this skirt with a baseball tee to dress it down and make it perfect for running some errands. I love the glittery pocket on this tee. It makes the top a little more fun than your average baseball tee.

How cute is the last picture of Eve in this post?! I can barely stand how cute it is. I love that I can already put her hair in pigtails and she's only six months old!

Stripes + Glitter

I used to think that pencil skirts were only to be worn on dressy occasions. I'd wear them to church but that was about it. I've come to realize that this doesn't have to be the case. Pair one with a casual shirt and some flats and you've got an outfit that can be worn anytime. This type of outfit is especially nice for the warmer weather.
I couldn't pass up these glittery sandals from Target. They were only $16.99! I think I'm going to be wearing these babies a lot over the summer.

Animal Print

I think that this top is so fun. It has leopard print, zebra print, and rhinestones down the front. The print is a little muted which keeps it from looking like there's too much going on. I finally fit back into these white jeans and I figured that this was a fun top to wear them with.
That's about all I have to say about this, I guess. Thanks for stopping by!

Chocolate & Weight Loss

I think that most of us have always assumed that eating chocolate would lead to gaining weight. I know that I certainly did. Since I'm not a huge fan of chocolate to begin with (I know, I'm crazy) I've generally avoided it in the past. Lately I've started to add a little more chocolate to my diet. Why? Because of an article I read recently about a study on the effects that chocolate consumption has on body weight.

Mint + Peach

One of my Mother's Day gifts was this gorgeous mint pencil skirt. I absolutely love the color and it is the most comfortable pencil skirt I've ever worn. I paired it with a peach top that has a slight metallic shimmer (which is difficult to see in these pictures). This top also has ruched sleeves which make it just a little bit more interesting.

I thought it would be fun to dress Eve in a cute mint onesie so that we could be color coordinated. It's always fun to match our outfits every once in a while.

Leopard Print

Since I love pairing sweaters and button ups so much, I figured that I should try out wearing a cardigan with a button up. I had originally just put on the button up and the skirt but I felt like the outfit was missing something. I think that adding the cardigan and belt made it a little more interesting. Also I felt like this dressy combo helped to balance out the cheetah print I was wearing and kept it from looking tacky.

I decided to let Eve's hair go wild and free in this picture taking session. Her hair used to stick straight up but now that it's so long it's starting to stay down. It's amazing how much hair this little girl has. A couple of days ago I saw a picture of me when I was six months and I had the exact same hair. So I guess Baby Eve gets that crazy hair from her mama!
