Letters to Eve: 9 & 10 Months

Dear Eve,

Mama took a little break from blogging last month which meant that I didn't get to write a letter to you last month! I'm even a little behind with this letter because you're going to be 11 months old in less than 2 weeks! You are such an active little girl and you're getting over the stranger anxiety phase you were going through. You have lots of smiles for almost everyone now!

The biggest development since the last time I wrote about you is that you have taken your first steps! You love it when we walk you around while you hold onto our fingers. You will also walk in between me and your Dad. You often do 3-6 steps at a time without anyone's help! The most you've done is 8 steps!

You're a tiny little thing! You're only in the 3rd percentile for weight! You don't really like to eat and you're really active so I think that's why you're so little. To get you to eat I usually have to distract you with something. We often watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse because you absolutely love it. As soon as Mickey comes on the screen you get a cute little smile and start kicking your legs. If you're not in your high chair, you start dancing to all the songs. It's the cutest!

You're already developing quite the attitude! When you don't want more food or when you don't want to do something, you'll shake your head to say no. I thought you didn't know what no meant but now I think you do and you just choose to ignore me! Cheeky little girl!

Your favorite activity is pulling things out of drawers and off of shelves. Cleaning is a never ending battle with you. While I'm tidying one area, you're messing up another.

You are a ... difficult sleeper. You still wake up in the middle of night for a feeding and you hate going down for naps. I have to feed you to sleep and if you wake up while I'm putting you down in your crib, it's all over. I generally end up leaving you on your boppy and putting you on our bed or on the floor in your room. You seem to wake up less that way. You will usually wake up 20 minutes into your nap and I'll have to feed you to sleep again. Let's work on this over the next month, okay? Okay.

You will rarely stay sitting when you're in a shopping cart. You always want to turn around to see where we're going. You'll usually start standing up, too. It makes it a little difficult to shop with you when I'm on my own!

There are so many other things I could say about you but if I did, this post would be way too long. Instead, I'm just going to add a few more random pictures of cuteness.

You are such a sweet, fun baby. I'm pretty lucky to get to spend all of my time with you. Daddy is really jealous.
I love you so much, little girl!

Love,
Mama
