Blazers, Birthdays, and Adele

The thing I love about an outfit like this is that it easily transitions from relaxed to put-together. When I'm at home with the girls, I skip the blazer and boots and wear just the gold polka dot top and jeans. Casual, yet still cute. And if someone comes to the door, I don't look I've completely like I've given up on myself. Then, when it's time to go out, I throw on the blazer and boots and it's an entirely different look. Easy peasy.

Two random facts;
1. My birthday was yesterday. I am now a quarter of a century old. Bring on dentures and adult diapers (jk.)
2. I love Adele. Anybody with me? (Of course, because she's awesome.) I love that when one of her songs comes on, you just instantly want to belt it as loud and powerfully as you can... or is that just me?
Oh, and we're also best friends. Don't believe me? Here's irrefutable proof:

See, completely irrefutable.
My Adele-o-philia has had some unforeseen effects. For example, when we were at the grocery store last week, Eve, suddenly sang, "Rumor has it. Rumor has it." And continued to sing this for the next two minutes. None of the other words in that song, just the same line over and over. And Eve's not the only one to be affected. Lily will also start singing during Hello. When that chorus comes on, she starts singing with long, loud unintelligible sounds.
At least they're not singing rap songs, right?

  10. Happy belated birthday! My daughter's birthday was the 22nd. (: I am totally with you on the feeling old part. Now if I can only accept that 26 is coming no matter how much I tell myself I'll forever be 25. (;

    If someone says they don't like Adele, I get a sudden urge to distrust anything they say. haha Like how could anyone not like her? She's hilarious (watch her Karaoke cab ride YouTube bit and her latest Ellen interview), beautiful, talented, and a fellow mom. (: She's the role model I want my kiddo to have. Which my daughter totally makes those same little singing noises when Hello comes on the radio. Followed by laughter as I attempt to belt out some notes like Adele. (;

    1. Haha it was hard for me to ever picture myself turning 25, let alone 26! That's never going to happen ;) I'm totally with you on the Adele thing. If someone says they don't like Adele, they must not have feelings. On their hearing must be impaired ;) I love the Karaoke cab ride video! Did you see that video from a while ago of her pretending to be an Adele impersonator? I haven't see the Ellen interview, so thanks for the recommendation! I can never have too much Adele!

  16. I really enjoyed reading The Swarm. It kept me engrossed from start to finish with only one or two slow bits that I still found interesting. The characters are very well written so you can get into their heads. I thought there was plenty of action interspersed throughout the story, but the non-action was just as good. Excellent explanation of the problem at hand and how it was discovered etc.
