Tip Tuesday: Nail Polish
Until a few months ago, I was strictly a $2 nail polish girl. I would look longingly at the pretty Essie and OPI polishes but couldn't bring myself to pay $9 for them. Knowing that I'd always wanted a nice quality polish, my sister bought me two lovely Essie shades for Christmas last December. It was love at first brush stroke! My nails still looked great after a week. I realized that it's definitely worth paying a little more to get a polish that didn't chip after one day. But being the cheapo that I am, I still cringed at the price tags... so I did a little investigating. I learned that you can get Essie and OPI polishes for $5-6 on Amazon and eBay. Now that's a little less painful!
If you still aren't willing to fork over the cash, my best advice would be to invest in a really nice base and top coat. I use Essie 3-Way Glaze with all of my polishes and it really makes a difference with the cheap ones!
Here are some of the polishes I've bought from Amazon and eBay. If you're interested in any of these, go ahead and click the names to be taken to their pages.
Essie Splash of Grenadine- Amazon- $6, free shipping
Essie Fiji- Amazon- $5.05 + $0.99 shipping
Essie Butler Please- Amazon- $6.10 + free shipping
OPI Significant Other Color- eBay- $5.91

I never would have thought to look online for nail polishes! What a great discovery and easier on the wallet :) I LOVE that Fiji Essie polish you are wearing!

I buy most of my polishes online b/c you are right - a few dollars cheaper makes a big difference! I love that last OPI color! I'll have to check that out!
ReplyDeleteI got hooked on Essie's a couple years ago. Sometimes there are really good lots on eBay that even give you the ability to choose polishes. When buying several like that, they average about $3-4 each. Thanks for the 3 Way Glaze tip... I haven't tried that yet. :)
