I Promise I Can Explain...

Some of you may have noticed that there has been a slight lull in my posting... as in I haven't posted once in the past four months. I'm going to assume that no one was too traumatized by my sudden and unexplained lack of communication, but I still feel that an explanation is due. I'm going to let these cute pictures of Eve do the talking for me:

Hopefully the message is clear here. I'm pregnant! As much as I wanted to be posting, the first trimester was really rough for me. I was sick all day long, every day. It was an achievement if I could stand, let alone get all dressed up. It was quite a shock to feel so ill because my pregnancy with Eve was a relative breeze! I felt sick a handful of days and even my worst days with Eve couldn't compare to this time around. Fortunately, after 14 weeks, things started to turn around.

I am now 19 weeks along. So, yes, there has been a month or so where sickness was not an excuse for my silence. Honestly, I just didn't want to post pictures of myself. I know that a lot of women with morning sickness lose weight during the first trimester but that wasn't the case for me. I always felt worst when I started to get hungry, so I ate constantly to lessen my nausea. Of course, along with morning sickness came a plethora of food aversions. Sadly, most of what I could stomach was fairly calorie dense so I ended up gaining more weight than I had hoped. Nothing crazy, but I'm not going to be one of those women who doesn't seem to look any different than when they aren't pregnant, apart from a protruding belly. I've seen so many other bloggers look absolutely amazing while pregnant that it makes me feel embarrassed over how different I look.

But enough with the pity party. I love this blog so I've decided to just move past these issues. I'm going to start posting outfits again and now you'll all be prepared for a slightly chubbier me.

On a brighter note, we find out the gender on Thursday! As long as this baby is cooperative, that is. John and I both have a feeling that it's a boy (which we would love), but we'll be quite happy to have another girl. We have everything we need for a little girl! I'm just so excited that the day is almost here. I have no idea how people wait until the baby is born! That's some crazy will power!

  1. Congrats on the new addition! Sorry to hear you weren't feeling feel but you were missed!

  2. Congrats! I felt the same way during my first trimester! I barely blogged during my whole pregnancy! (I also haven't blogged since I had my son!) Hope you are feeling well soon!

  3. I always thought I'd be part of the "basketball belly" club, too. Nope. I gain all over and carry that baby way out in front of me. Everybody carries differently - there is no right way to look pregnant. Plus, I think it's easy to think that others look cute pregnant, but that you don't. I think you look adorable. So blog on with your bad self, sista, because you grew a pancreas today. ;) Your body is amazing!
