Glamorous Vintage Curls Tutorial

If you're looking for a really simple hair tutorial, this is it! While I tend to curl my hair the same way all the time, occasionally I get a little bored and experiment. This tutorial shows how to produce really soft, glamorous looking curls. Not only would this type of curl work well for vintage themed costumes but it can really be worn whenever you want to look a little fancy! Or, if you're like me, when you're going to the grocery store...

1. Start with freshly cleaned or day old hair. If you've just washed it, apply volumizing products (I like Big Sexy Hair Blow Dry Volumizing Gel) and blow dry it with a round brush for added volume.

2. Using a 1" curling wand (I use the Bellami 6 in 1 curler), wrap a 1" section of hair around the barrel. The key here is to hold the curling wand horizontally rather than vertically. Hole in place for 5-10 seconds.

3. After 5-10 seconds, remove the curling wand without letting the hair fall down.

4. Pin the rolled up curl at your scalp.

5. Repeat steps 2-4 for your entire head. Once you've finished curling and pinning all of your hair, let it cool down completely. The longer you wait, the longer the curl will hold.

6. Once your hair is completely cool, unpin your curls.

7. Gently brush through your curls and....

You're done! Now go and enjoy your gorgeous hair!
