Fall Pattern Mixing

Gingham Shirt: J.Crew Factory  |  Floral Pencil Skirt: Van Heusen (similar here and here)  |  Black D'orsay Heels: Anne Klein (similar here) |  Pearl cluster necklace: Forever 21 (similar here)

Sometimes when I am choosing an outfit, I will consider current trends and season appropriate color combinations. At other times, an outfit idea comes to me and I go with it, regardless of trends or the season. The latter was the case when I picked out this look. I started with the shirt (one of my all-time favorites that happens to be trendy) and then had to decide between the safer, solid colored skirts that I own and the fun printed ones. This time, I chose to pattern mix. The result was a color scheme that would be absolutely perfect for fall. But hey, I'm a rebel, so I wore it in summer ;)

So I had a doctor's appointment on Friday. And despite my less-than-perfect health habits, my blood work results were pretty spectacular. According to my doctor, I'm one of those people who could eat fast food every day and be okay. So, thank you good genetics, for allowing me to continue eating the burgers I love. Maybe I shouldn't risk eating them every day though... maybe just every other day ;)

  3. I have a red gingham top I can never seem to make work for me. It's one of those tops I've almost donated 4 times now. Hmmm. Perhaps blue gingham is the route I should have gone?

    Yay for being healthy! I'm being totally serious when I say if I could I'd eat Taco Bell every day. Not ashamed to profess my love. (;

    1. I do think that blue gingham is the most versatile, especially if you want to pattern mix. However, I have a pink gingham top that I wear a lot too! I like to layer it under sweaters in the fall. Ha ha glad I'm not the only one with a love for fast food :)
