As much as I love a good tulle skirt, they aren't the most practical of items. I don't know about you, but my life isn't filled with many occasions where I don't feel just a little ridiculous in a giant, puffy skirt. Enter, the pleated maxi skirt. It adds instant glamour, like the tulle skirt, but in a more grown up, less girly way. I like to think of the pleated maxi as the sophisticated older sister of the tulle skirt. I'd been dying to add one of these to my wardrobe for a very, very long time and when I saw this blush pink one, I just couldn't say no. The quality is amazing and the price tag is super low. I can see the internal debate that I'll be having every Sunday when deciding what to wear to church.

Me: How about the pleated maxi?
Practical me: But you wore that last week.
Me: But it's insanely pretty.
Practical me: You still wore it last week.
Me: Yes, but not with a lace top... or a blazer... or a turtleneck.
Practical me: What's with your obsession with turtlenecks? It's still a no.
Me: But it's silky. None of my other skirts are that silky.
Practical me: Just wear one of your bazillion other skirts. Or what about a dress?
Me: Shut it, practical me. You just don't get me.

Yep, that's exactly how it's going to go.

  4. I'm totally going to be the mom that coordinates all my children's clothing to match. I already sort of do it with my daughter. Ooops.... Anyway, don't we all wish life was a ballet? I mean, I'd rock a big fluffy tulle skirt in a second if you asked. They are so pretty and fun! But I totally understand your woes. Pleats are totally the new tulle!
